emotion-based theories, examine how collaborative rituals can be used within a balanced approach, &
review practical applications of the balanced approach to bereaved individuals

2. It's Complicated: Men's Grief
Objectives: Examine how male gender norms and socialization influence how men grieve, review the differences in grieving styles,  examine the unique challenges faced by grieving men, especially widowers and bereaved fathers, discuss how men use support and counseling groups differently and how to adjust groups to meet their needs, discuss examples of how men can use rituals to help express and heal grief
