Maryville UMW District Officers

Susan Daffron

Susan Daffron

Maryville District President

I am excited to serve as your District President and look forward to the journey that God will lead us.  Please pray for our District Team as we prepare to serve you in the coming year.

I have previously served the Maryville District UMW as Spiritual Growth Coordinator, Treasurer, Vice-President and Committee on Nominations and have been active in UMW for 35 years.  I am a member of Broadway UMC where I serve as co-chair for the Evangelism Interest Group, Sunday School Secretary and volunteer at the prayer table for the Brown Food Pantry.  I was born and raised in Maryville.  After a 41 year career with TVA/GUBMK Constructors, I retired in January 2016, to care for my precious granddaughter, Katie.   My husband, Mark, and I have two sons and two daughters between us.  I enjoy gardening, collecting antiques and music.

Margaret Denney

Maryville District Vice President

Margaret Denney, District Vice-President: I was born and grew up in Nashville in a large Methodist Church.  After moving to Knoxville, I joined Mountain View UMC, a much smaller church, and I love it!  I have been a member here for 40 years and have served many positions in the church.  Currently I am president of our local UMW unit, Chair of the Administrative Board, and a member of the choir.  I have also served on the Maryville District Board of Church Building and Location.  I have attended many District and Conference UMW events with the highlight being Assembly in 2014.

I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Interior Design and worked in that field for 30 years before retiring in 2009.  My late husband (Austin Denney) and I have two children and a gaggle of grandchildren!  I enjoy reading, movies, traveling and spending time with friends and family.  I am truly blessed each day with the love of the Lord and humbled to be asked to serve Him through the United Methodist Women.

Kim Henry

Maryville District Secretary

I am a blessed to be a member of Peck's Memorial United Methodist Church, where I have been attending since 2004 and officially transferred my membership in 2010.  I am in my first year of serving as our UMW Unit Treasurer.  I am a member of the choir, and currently serve on the Trustees (chair), Finance, Administrative Board (secretary), and Council on Ministries Committees.  I am a public servant employed by Blount County Government, in the Property Assessor's Office.

I was born and raised in Southwest Pennsylvania, Johnstown area, and bounced around a few states before settling in Blount County in 1998.  In 2000, one of my dear co-workers presented me with a plaque which reads, "I'm not from Tennessee, but I got here as fast as I could!"  All of God's Creation is beautiful, but East Tennessee is extra special!

Heather Fugatt

Maryville District Treasurer

I'm originally from the Cincinnati, Ohio area and came to Tennessee 14 years ago after graduating from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan with an Accounting degree. I am a member of Green Meadow UMC and the Friendship Unit UMW. I have been married since July 2009 to David.  David is currently attending Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Kentucky and plans to graduate in May 2013 with his Master of Divinity (M. Div) degree. I've worked for BB&T for 13 years. In my spare time, I enjoy researching my family tree, reading, cross-stitching, traveling, and visiting Civil War sites.

My name is Kim Hill and I am a life-long member of Broadway United Methodist Church.  I have been on several committees and served as Worship Work Area Chair.  I was a UMW member at large for several years, then joined Square One, our evening group.  I am a member of the Epworth Bells, our hand bell choir.

I hope to improve communications within the Maryville District in 2017.  I would like to get the quarterly newsletter into as many ladies’ hands as possible.  I would also to offer monthly briefs of activities going on in our units.  I will also be working to make our website a resource for current information.
