"Caring for God's Creation" at First Broad Street UMC
October 25, 2007
Nov. 18 has been declared “Caring for God’s Creation Sunday” at First Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport, Tenn. This will be a day in which the congregation celebrates and embrace all of God’s creation through worship in word and song. As people of God, we will be reminded of ways to pattern our lives so that we honor and respect the creation around us. In remembering to be thankful to God, we will aid generation after generation in coming to know God as the author of all creation. Each household will receive a reusable grocery bag and an energy-efficient light bulb. The grocery bag can be taken on each trip to the supermarket and used to transport groceries home. This will prevent the use of plastic which is helpful to the environment. The light bulb is energy efficient , using much less electricity. This is more cost effective as well as environmentally friendly.
Please e-mail us with news of your own church's environmental work.
