We are excited to announce that online registration  is now up and running for Convocation 2018. Also, you can reserve your hotel room through our group site at Music Road Resort in Pigeon Forge. Please read the hotel  instructions first, as their reservation system has changed a bit.

This year we have invited three main speakers to share their words of wisdom with us. Each of them will address us in two plenary sessions and deliver the sermon for one worship. We will also have a panel discussion, featuring all three speakers.

Andy Crouch

Andy Crouch is shaping the way our generation sees culture, creativity, and the gospel. His two most recent books—2017's The Tech-Wise Family: Everyday Steps for Putting Technology in Its Proper Place and 2016's Strong and Weak: Embracing a Life of Love, Risk and True Flourishing—build on the compelling vision of faith, culture, and the image of God laid out in his previous books Playing God: Redeeming the Gift of Power and Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling.

He is currently the senior strategist for communication at the John Templeton Foundation. His work and writing have been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, and several other publications.

Matt Miofsky

The Rev. Matt Miofsky is Lead Pastor of The Gathering United Methodist Church, Saint Louis, Missouri, a church begun in 2006 with over 1,000 people worshiping each week across four sites and 8+ services. The Gathering was founded with a vision of creating a Christian community that is compelling for new generations in Saint Louis. Matt gained a degree in Advanced Math and played football at Washington University and then attended Candler School of Theology. Matt lives with his family in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Donna Claycomb Sokol
The Rev. Donna Claycomb Sokol is the pastor of Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, a historic congregation in Washington, D.C. Before that, from 2001 to 2005, she served as director of admissions for Duke Divinity School. She has a B.A. in economics from William Woods University, an M.Div. from Duke and a D.Min. in preaching from Wesley Theological Seminary. Before being called to ministry, Sokol worked in D.C., first as a White House intern in the Clinton administration and later on Capitol Hill, as a staffer for Congressman Eric Fingerhut and then Senator Tom Harkin. She blogs at http://wordsfromwashington.blogspot.com/.

Clergy Gathering will take place following Convocation on Thursday, February 22nd. You will be able to earn an additional 0.3 CEUs for attending. As a Convo attendee, you are automatically registered for the Gathering unless you check the box on the registration form, indicating you will not stay for that. If you are not attending Convocation (and we can't imagine why you would pass up such a great opportunity!), you will need to register  separately for the Gathering.
