Come to the mountains of eastern Ketucky to rest, relax & renew.

Bishop Ken Carder will present "Living with Dementia: Challenges & Opportunities." Dementia diseases are more feared than most threats to life and health. Yet a growing number of people live with cognitive impairments themselves or care for loved ones with a dementia disease.

Ken Carder serves as caregiver for his wife of 57 years, Linda, and as chaplain of a memory care unit. Additionally, he teaches a seminary course for pastors entitled “Dementia through a Pastoral
Theological Lens.” He will share his own story and the blessings and challenges of living with dementia. Among the questions to ponder are the following: What does it mean to be a person when
the mind fails and memories are lost? What if a person forgets God? What gifts do people with dementia offer us? What abides when memories fade?   0.4 CEUs
