The Fred B. Craddock Lectures on Preaching honors one of Johnson University’s most renowned and respected alumni. Craddock's voice has been one of the most influential in homiletics over the last fifty years. A Baylor University research study, published by Newsweek, named Craddock as one of the twelve most effective preachers in the English-speaking world. His scholarly regard for the biblical text and his folksy story telling ability combined to make Craddock an exceptional model of creative, effective communication.

These preaching seminars will be conducted by Dr. J. Kent Edwards. The schedule is as follows:

9:00 – 9:50 Sermon in chapel (Dr. J. Kent Edwards)
10:00 – 11:15 Lecture, “The Catalyst” (Dr. J. Kent Edwards)
11:30 – 1:00 Lunch ($6.50 in the Gally Commons)
1:10 – 2:25 Lecture, “Engaging Biblical Preaching” (Dr. J. Kent Edwards)

Though the lectureship is free, please RSVP by calling 865-251-2254 or emailing Marsha Ketchen so that proper arrangements can be made for room size and lunch.
