A Divorce Recovery Group is being offered at First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, Tenn. (1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike), for anyone who has experienced a recent or not-so-ecent divorce. The group will begin on Tuesday, March 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will meet for six Tuesdays through April 25.

The group will provide participants a safe, supportive community in which to express and explore the many reactions that come in the aftermath of divorce. Persons can share their experiences, struggles, concerns, sorrows, fears, anger, joy, hopes, and dreams to the level of their own comfort. Meetings will be in a relaxed informal setting.

There is no cost for participation. However, there is a $5 material fee.

Ellen Hitchcock will lead the Divorce Recovery Group. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Oak Ridge. She received her MSW from the University of Alabama.

In her practice, Ellen provides a comprehensive structure for clients to improve self-understanding and thereby make wiser choices in their personal lives during challenging times. She works with adults of all ages, including couples. She has had extensive training and practice in conflict resolution, family mediation, and cross-cultural study.

She is a Certified Personal Life Coach and Spiritual Mentor. She facilitates workshops and retreats throughout the southeast and is author of Nature’s Magical Moments: Reflections on Nature and Self.

To register, call First United Methodist Church and leave your name and telephone number with the office staff (865-483-4357) or email Rev. Jenny Caughman at jcaughman@fumcor.org. The group is sponsored by the Adult Ministry of First United Methodist Church.
