Thursday, June 1

First United Methodist Church
212 Washington Avenue
Newport, TN 37821

Make certain you don’t miss the fellowship, food and wonderful learning experience offered at the Senior Adult SPRING FLING on June 1 at First United Methodist Church in Newport, Tenn. Sponsored by the Morristown District of The United Methodist Church, the theme of this event is I Don't Want to be a Burden -- Bearing  Burdens: Gifts and Challenges.

Retired Bishop Kenneth Carder, a native of Holston Conference, currently serves as the chaplain at Bethany, a memory care facility in Chapin, S.C., where his wife, Linda, has been a resident. His leadership will guide the participants through both practical and theological aspects of caregiving.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program is at 10 am through lunch. There will be an afternoon session from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. that is specially designed for clergy and church workers; however, it is open to all. The morning session will address the practical aspects of caregiving and the afternoon session will focus on the theological aspects of caregiving.
