Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church

The mission of the Holston Conference Secretaries Association is to provide a supportive base for the unity and fellowship of its members in order to provide individual growth, professional development, continuing education, and spiritual enrichment, promote and encourage the training and support of United Methodist Church secretaries and administrative staff, and serve as an advocate for emerging concerns that affect church secretaries and administrative staff.

We invite you to join us and attend our upcoming fall conference!  Our newsletter, membership and conference registration forms can be downloaded from the list to the left.  Also available for review is our 2010 (revised) copy of our bylaws that will be voted on this September.  Come join us for a time of fellowship and spiritual renewal.  The complete agenda is available with the registration form.  Guest speakers this year include Gaye King, Associate Director of Connectional Ministries will start us out with a reminder of how we are all significant vessels of mercy and service in every aspect of our lives.  Nancy Hobbs, Big Stone Gap District Church and Community Worker will provide us with information regarding the care, maintenance, and safety of benevolence funds. Back by popular demand Brent Sharp, Holston Conference IT Manager will continue with his guidance of how to protect our computers and information in this internet world.  The Reverend Grady Winegar, Retired Holston Conference District Superintendent and Clergy Concerns will review the structure of the United Methodist Church and close us for the day. Our annual business meeting will begin on Friday morning with several items that are being voted on this year.  The conference will conclude with a special closing message and communion with Bishop James Swanson.  Please feel free to contact any of our standing officers should you have any questions.
